Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers to common questions

For Doers

How do I log a deed?
After signing up, go to your Dashboard and click "Log a Deed." Fill in the type of deed, description, date, and any supporting details. Your sponsors will be notified automatically!
What types of deeds can I log?
Almost anything that helps others! Blood donations, volunteering, tutoring, park cleanups, dog walking at shelters, community service, mentoring, and more. If it makes the world better, it counts.
How do I verify my deeds?
You can add photos, descriptions, and location check-ins. Your chosen charity may also verify deeds. We use an honor system backed by community oversight.
When do I receive funds for my charity?
Sponsors are charged after each verified deed. Funds are collected and transferred to your chosen charity on a regular payout schedule. You can track all donations in your dashboard.
Can I change which charity I support?
Yes! You can update your chosen charity from your profile settings at any time. Future deed donations will go to the new charity.
What if I don't have sponsors yet?
Start logging deeds anyway! Your profile will build a track record. Share your profile link with friends, family, and colleagues to invite them to sponsor your deeds.

For Sponsors

How does per-deed sponsorship work?
You pledge a dollar amount (e.g., $1.50) per deed. When your sponsored doer logs a verified deed, you're charged your pledge amount. The money goes to their chosen charity.
Can I set a monthly maximum?
Yes! Set a monthly cap in your sponsor settings. Once you hit your limit, you won't be charged for additional deeds that month.
When am I charged?
You're charged shortly after each verified deed is completed by someone you sponsor. All charges appear on your Sponsor Dashboard with full details.
Can I sponsor multiple people?
Absolutely! Sponsor as many doers as you'd like, each with their own pledge amount and monthly cap.
How do I cancel a pledge?
Go to your Sponsor Dashboard, find the pledge, and click "Manage." You can pause or cancel any pledge at any time with no penalties.
Are donations tax-deductible?
Donations go to registered charities which may qualify as tax-deductible. We provide annual giving summaries. Consult your tax advisor for specifics.

For Charities

How do I register my charity?
Visit our Charity Signup page and fill out the registration form. We'll verify your organization and get you set up within a few business days.
What verification do you require?
We verify your nonprofit status (501(c)(3) or equivalent), EIN, and organizational details to ensure all charities on SomeDo are legitimate.
How do payouts work?
Funds are collected from sponsors and paid out to your charity on a regular schedule. Set up your banking details in the Charity Dashboard to receive payouts.
Is there a fee?
SomeDo charges a small platform fee to cover payment processing and operations. The vast majority of every dollar goes directly to your cause.
How do I approve deeds?
Log into your Charity Dashboard to see pending deeds. Review the details and approve or flag them. Approved deeds trigger sponsor charges.
