Terms of Service
Welcome to SomeDo.Org ("SomeDo," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, logging a deed, making a pledge, or otherwise using SomeDo.Org, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.
2. Service Description
SomeDo.Org is a micro-sponsorship platform that connects:
- Doers — individuals who perform and log real-world good deeds
- Sponsors — individuals and businesses who pledge micro-donations per deed
- Charities — registered nonprofit organizations that receive the funds
We facilitate connections, verify deeds, process payments, and distribute funds. We do not perform deeds, guarantee charitable outcomes, or provide financial or tax advice.
3. User Accounts
3.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@somedo.org if you suspect unauthorized access.
3.3 Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or for any reason with reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time through your dashboard settings.
4. User Roles & Responsibilities
4.1 Doers
- Must log only legitimate, completed good deeds
- Must provide accurate descriptions and, when required, proof of completion (photos, documentation)
- May not fabricate, exaggerate, or misrepresent deed activity
- Are responsible for their own safety during deed performance
4.2 Sponsors
- Must provide valid payment information and authorize recurring charges based on pledge amounts
- Understand that charges are processed after deeds are verified and approved
- May pause, modify, or cancel pledges at any time through the Sponsor Dashboard
- Are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds for pledged amounts
4.3 Charities
- Must be a registered 501(c)(3) or equivalent nonprofit organization
- Must provide accurate EIN/tax identification and maintain valid banking information
- Must use received funds in accordance with their stated charitable mission
- Are responsible for providing tax receipts to donors as required by law
5. Deed Verification
SomeDo reserves the right to:
- Review and verify any logged deed before approving it
- Require additional proof or documentation
- Reject deeds that appear fraudulent, exaggerated, or do not meet our guidelines
- Suspend accounts with patterns of suspicious activity
Charity partners may also review and approve or reject deeds directed to their organization.
6. Payment Terms
6.1 Sponsor Charges
Sponsors are charged automatically when a deed they've pledged to support is approved. Charges are processed via Stripe and appear on your statement as "SOMEDO.ORG."
6.2 Platform Fee
SomeDo retains a 5% platform fee from each transaction to support operations, maintenance, and growth. The remaining 95% goes directly to the designated charity.
6.3 Charity Payouts
Funds are accumulated and disbursed to charities monthly on the 15th, subject to a minimum payout threshold of $25.00. Charities must have verified banking information on file.
6.4 Refunds
Sponsors may request refunds for charges related to deeds that are later found to be fraudulent. Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days. Legitimate, verified deeds are generally non-refundable.
7. Content & Conduct
7.1 Prohibited Activities
- Logging fraudulent or fabricated deeds
- Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users
- Spamming, phishing, or distributing malware
- Impersonating another person or organization
- Attempting to manipulate platform metrics or exploit system vulnerabilities
- Using the platform for money laundering or other illegal purposes
7.2 User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit (deed descriptions, photos, profile information). By posting content, you grant SomeDo a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the platform and for promotional purposes.
7.3 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, is flagged by users, or that we determine is harmful to the community.
8. Limitation of Liability
SomeDo.Org is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Injuries or damages resulting from deed activities performed off-platform
- Disputes between doers, sponsors, and charities
- Loss of data, revenue, or profits arising from use of the platform
- Actions or omissions of third-party service providers (payment processors, etc.)
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to SomeDo in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises between users, we encourage direct communication first. If unresolved, you may contact support@somedo.org for mediation. We will review the matter and may take action including deed reversal, account suspension, or refund processing.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SomeDo.Org, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
